THE GOAL OF THE EFFINGHAM COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY IS TO REDUCE ANIMAL SUFFERING IN OUR COUNTY THROUGH EDUCATING AND PROMOTING RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP, INCLUDING SPAYING/NEUTERING PETS, APPROPRIATE PET IDENTIFICATION, PROPER PET CARE, AND THE QUALITY ADOPTION OF HOMELESS PETS.

WE SHELTER 50-60 CATS AND DOGS UNTIL THEY CAN BE ADOPTED. WE ALSO PLACE 20 -30 IN FOSTER HOMES. ALL ARE VETTED, MICRO-CHIPPED, NEUTERED/SPAYED AND KENNELS AND CAT CAGES ARE CLEANED DAILY.
20-25 PETS ARE ADOPTED MONTHLY AFTER APPLICATION REVIEWED AND REFERENCES CHECKED TO INSURE QUALITY HOMES. FACEBOOK, WEBSITE, NEWSLETTERS, NEWSPAPER ADS USED TO PROMOTE.
VISIT NURSING HOMES AND SCHOOLS WITH PETS TO EDUCATE AND CHEER UP INDIVIDUALS AND STUDENTS. ALSO SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND PARADES. TRANSPORT PUBLIC'S PETS TO NEUTER/SPAY CLINICS.
