SINCE 1867 THE SOCIETY HAS PROMOTED CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE GREATER BELLEVILLE ILLINOIS AREA BY FACILITATING AND SPONSORING ORCHESTRAL AND CHORAL MUSIC PERFORMANCES BY COMMUNITY ADULTS AND YOUTH AT CONCERTS WORKSHOPS AND OTHER PERFORMANCES.

DURING THE 2021 - 2022 SEASON THE PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY OF BELLEVILLE PRESENTED 5 CLASSICAL MUSIC PERFORMANCES BY APPROXIMATELY 110 INSTRUMENTALISTS AND VOCALISTS. SEVERAL OF THESE CONCERTS FEATURED MEMBERS OF THE ENSEMBLES AND YOUTH AS SOLOISTS. ADDITIONALLY THE SOCIETY AGAIN COLLABORATED WITH THE LOCAL BALLET SCHOOL IN PRESENTING 3 PERFORMANCES OF THE NUTCRACKER. CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED IN A VARIETY OF VENUES THROUGHOUT THE METRO-AREA. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED AN APPROPRIATE VENUE FOR RECITALS BY COMMUNITY MUSICIANS SINGERS AND STUDENTS NOT NECESSARILY IN THE PHILHARMONIC'S PERFORMING GROUPS. THE SOCIETY'S GROUPS ALSO PERFORMED AT A NUMBER OF CIVIC EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY.
