LIFETIME BONDS: LIFETIME BONDS CONTINUED WITH 6 NONPROFIT PARTNERS (ILLINOIS YOUTH CENTER - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS YOUTH CENTER - ST CHARLES, YMCA'S YOUTH AND SAFETY VIOLENCE PROGRAMS AT RAUNER YMCA AND SOUTHSIDE YMCA, ENLACE CHICAGO, AND ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS NETWORK / INSTITUTO JUSTICE AND LEADERSHIP ACADEMY), NAPERVILLE HUMANE SOCIETY AND ONE UNIVERSITY (NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIV). IN COLLABERATION WITH 4 ANIMAL SHELTERS (CHICAGO ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL, AURORA ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL, TAILS HUMANE SOCIETY AND ONE OTHER, SERVING MORE THAN 100 YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS AND 130 AMBASSADOR, COURT CASE, PROGRAM, AND OTHER SHELTER DOGS. 75 VOLUNTEERS AND 10 SAFE HUMANE STAFF MEMBERS HELD MORE THAN 80 LIFETIME BONDS CLASSES WITH OUR PARTNERS.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: COVID CONTINUED TO IMPACT ALL OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES. THEY INCLUDED PROGRAMMING AT CHICAGO ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL, WHICH WERE MAINLY MANNERS CLASSES, IN-KENNEL ENRICHMENT (IKE), OUT-OF-KENNEL ENRICHMENT OR WALKING; COLLABORATIVE JUSTICE, WHICH CONTINUED COURT ADVOCACY EFFORTS THOUGH VIRTUALLY VIA ZOOM IN COURT ROOMS (WITH SOME 15 ACTIVE VOLUNTEERS), COMMUNITY COLLABERATION WITH FOUR GROUP VOLUNTEER DAYS COMPRISED OF MORE THAN 50 VOLUNTEERS AS WELL AS SEVERAL CORPORATE GROUPS, AND OUTREACH & EDUCATION, FOR WHICH VIRTUAL INTERACTIONS DOMINATED. 18 NEW AMBASSADOR DOGS WERE APPROVED TO BE READY WHEN IN-PERSON PROGRAMS RESUME. ALL POPULATIONS SERVED ARE DIVERSE IN SPECIES, RACE OR ETHNICITY, INCOME, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT AND AGE; AND THEY LIVE THROUGHOUT COOK COUNTY AND ITS COLLAR COUNTIES.


COURT CASE DOGS: COURT CASE DOGS PROGRAMMING CONTINUED BUT NOT WITH ADDING NEW ONES INTO THE PROGRAM, RATHER WITH SUPPORTING PREVIOUSLY APPROVED ONES, BECAUSE OF COVID RESTRICTIONS AND ITS IMPACT ON CHICAGO ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL AND CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT. WE CONDUCTED SOME 100 DOG BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATIONS FREE OF CHARGE TO FAMILIES OF COURT CASE DOGS. WE CONDUCTED INTERVIEWS AND DISSEMINATED SUCCESS STORIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA. DOCUMENTED PROCEDURES FOR APPLICATION TO NEW ABUSED (SHELTER) DOG PROGRAMMING AND SHARING WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTING THEIR OWN COURT CASE DOGS
