YMEN HAS OVER 300 PARTICIPATING AT-RISK STUDENTS WHO RECEIVE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, ATTEND COLLEGE PREP CLASSES, AND RECEIVE HELP IN THE FORM OF ACADEMIC TUTORING AND MENTORING
YMEN HAS OVER 250 PARTICIPATING STUDENTS THAT LEARN BUSINESS SKILLS THROUGH ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAINING, JOURNALISTIC SKILLS THROUGH CREATIVE WRITING, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION THROUGH FINE ARTS CLASSES (VISUAL, MUSIC AND CULINARY), ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY TRAINING USING DIGITAL COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, JOB AND CAREER READINESS SUPPORT, AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION THROUGH THE DARE TO BE KING AND THE DARE TO BE QUEEN PROGRAMS.
YMEN HAS OVER 250 PARTICIPATING STUDENTS THAT ATTEND TRIPS TO EXPAND THEIR HORIZONS AND EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES THAT EXIST OUTSIDE OF THEIR COMMUNITY. TRIPS EXPLORING WORLD CULTURES SHARPENS THEIR APPRECIATION OF THE HUMANITIES AND THE CAMPING TRIPS ARE VALUABLE IN TEACHING THEM TEAM-BUILDING AND PEER COOPERATION. IN ADDITION, THESE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN RECREATIONAL OUTLETS, TEAM SPORTS, SPORTS LEAGUES, AND SOCIAL OUTINGS THAT PROVIDE A SAFE HARBOR FOR HEALTHY ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT.
