GROWING HOME IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIC FARM THAT PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND ORGANIC PRODUCE IN THE GREATER ENGLEWOOD COMMUNITY OF CHICAGO

IN 2023, A TOTAL OF 120 MEN AND WOMEN WERE ENROLLED IN OUR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. 94 PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED 1+ PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS INCLUDING SERVSAFE, COMPTIA COMPUTER, ROOTS OF SUCCESS ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST, GED, FORKLIFT. 51 PARTICIPANTS EITHER COMPLETED PAROLE/PROBATION OR REPORTED HAVING THEIR CRIMINAL RECORD SEALED/EXPUNGED. 67% OF GRADUATES WERE PLACED IN EMPLOYMENT (24% ABOVE THE DFSS AVERAGE FOR TRANSITIONAL JOB PROGRAMS IN CHICAGO).IN 2023, WE HARVESTED 42,000 POUNDS OF PRODUCE, SERVED 15,879 PEOPLE (17,578 INDIVIDUAL SERVINGS ADMINISTERED) THROUGH OUR VARIOUS FOOD ACCESS PROGRAMS, COOKING AND NUTRITION EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMING. 90% OF THE FOOD GROWN ON THE FARM WAS DISTRIBUTED IN ENGLEWOOD AND OTHER FOOD INSECURE COMMINITIES.
