SHELTER PROGRAM - TRANSITIONAL SHELTER PROGRAM FEATURES A COMPREHENSIVE ARRAY OF SERVICES DESIGNED TO TRANSITION A WOMAN AND HER CHILDREN BEYOND HOMELESSNESS AND TOWARDS INDEPENDENT LIVING. SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE CASE MANAGEMENT, CAREER SERVICES, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, COUNSELING, AND ADVOCACY. THE TWO TRANSITIONAL SHELTERS EACH HAVE 4-6 BEDROOMS AND SLEEPS 10 PEOPLE PER SITE. THE TYPICAL LENGTH OF STAY IS 3-5 MONTHS.
STAGE II HOUSING - TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM IS A MIDDLE STEP BETWEEN THE SHELTER AND INDEPENDENT LIVING. IT OFFERS THE SAME COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES THAT ARE OFFERED IN THE SHELTER PROGRAM. THE LENGTH OF STAY IN THESE UNITS RANGES FROM 6 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS. THE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM CURRENTLY MAINTAINS A TOTAL OF 7 APARTMENTS IN LIBERTYVILLE THAT ARE OWNED OR RENTED BY THE HAVEN AND THEN SUB-LEASED TO RESIDENTS AT AN AFFORDABLE RATE.
