FROM JULY 1, 2021, TO JUNE 30, 2022, 178 DOMESTIC/DATING VIOLENCE OFFENDERS AND FOUR STALKING OFFENDERS RECEIVED MONITORING/SUPERVISION SERVICES FUNDED BY THIS PROJECT. FIVE FAMILIES RECEIVED SUPERVISED VISITATION/EXCHANGE SERVICES AS A RESULT OF SEXUAL ASSAULT OR DOMESTIC/DATING VIOLENCE. THESE CASES ALSO INCLUDED FAMILY ISSUES OF EMOTIONAL ABUSE, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, AND/OR MENTAL ILLNESS, AND THESE SERVICES WERE FUNDED BY THIS PROJECT. ELEVEN VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, DOMESTIC/DATING VIOLENCE, STALKING, AND/OR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE RECEIVED CIVIL LEGAL ASSISTANCE FUNDED BY THIS PROJECT. VICTIMS WERE ASSISTED WITH LEGAL ISSUES SUCH AS PROTECTION ORDERS, FAMILY LAW MATTERS INCLUDING DIVORCE AND/OR CUSTODY/VISITATION, CHILD PROTECTION AND ADOPTION ISSUES.
FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO JUNE 30, 2022, THE RURAL PROGRAM PROVIDED SERVICES TO 726 VICTIM/SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND STALKING IN RURAL COUNTIES THROUGHOUT SOUTH DAKOTA. SERVICES PROVIDED ARE PROVIDED BY THE 11 RURAL ADVOCATES FUNDED PARTIALLY THROUGH THE RURAL PROGRAM. THE SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE CIVIL LEGAL ADVOCACY (249 TIMES), VICTIM ADVOCACY (2,429 TIMES), SUPPORT GROUPS (153 TIMES), LANGUAGE SERVICES, TRANSPORTATION, AND CRISIS INTERVENTION (1,214 TIMES). RURAL ADVOCATES ALSO PROVIDED 117 COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENTS WITH 4,190 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE.
FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO JUNE 30, 2022, ON THE IMPROVING CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESPONSE GRANT, 108 TRAININGS WERE PROVIDED TO 296 PROFESSIONALS ON TOPICS RELATED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, STALKING AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. 182 VICTIMS RECEIVED DIRECT ADVOCACY SERVICES (164 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS, 4 SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIMS, 14 STALKING VICTIMS) DURING THIS TIME. LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTNERS RESPONDED TO CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE IN 2,432 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASES, 313 SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES, AND 193 STALKING CASES.
FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO JUNE 30, 2022, 92 VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND STALKING RECEIVED CIVIL LEGAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE ATTORNEYS FUNDED THROUGH THE LEGAL ASSISTANCE FOR VICTIMS PROJECT. ONE ATTORNEY IS FUNDED TO COVER WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA, AND THE NETWORK CONTRACTS WITH A LAW FIRM IN SIOUX FALLS TO COVER EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA. THE NETWORK CONTRACTS WITH AN ATTORNEY TO PROVIDE CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES REGARDING IMMIGRATION ISSUES THAT ARE RELATED TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND STALKING. THE ATTORNEY AND THE LAW FIRM ASSISTED WITH PROTECTION ORDERS, DIVORCE, CUSTODY AND OTHER FAMILY LAW MATTERS. THE IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY ASSISTED VICTIMS WITH VAWA SELF-PETITION, U VISAS AND OTHER IMMIGRATION MATTERS.
