THE ORGANIZATION'S FUNCTION IS TRAINING AND JOB PLACEMENT OF YOUTH, ADULT, AND DISLOCATED WORKERS. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE VARIOUS WIOA PROGRAMS ARE TO ESTABLISH PROGRAMS TO PREPARE YOUTH AND UNSKILLED ADULTS TO ENTER INTO THE LABOR FORCE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY PROVIDING JOB TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, UNEMPLOYED OR UNDEREMPLOYED PERSONS, UPGRADING FOR PERSONS WORKING AT LESS THAN FULL SKILL POTENTIAL AND RETRAINING PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS HAVING RECEIVED NOTICE OF IMPENDING LAY-OFF WITH LITTLE RE-EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES WHICH ENABLE ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM AND CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR SELF-SUFFICIENCY. BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT SKILLS TEAM, INC. ALSO ADMINISTERS THE TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE WORKERS PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFIED WORKERS ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FOREIGN TRADE WHICH WILL ASSIST THEM TO OBTAIN SUITABLE EMPLOYMENT. DURING THE PROGRAM YEAR 7/1/14-6/30/15, BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT SKILLS TEAM, INC. MERGED WITH A NEIGHBORING WORKFORCE AREA INCREASING OUR NUMBER OF COUNTIES THAT ARE SERVED FROM FOUR TO EIGHT. DURING THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR, BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT SKILLS TEAM, INC. SERVED 267 ADULTS, 219 YOUTH, 59 DISLOCATED WORKERS, 18 OTHER DISLOCATED WORKERS (1-E), AND 27 TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE CLIENTS.
