MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING AND CRISIS INTERVENTIONS: INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO CHILDREN AND TEENS STRUGGLING WITH A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT PROBLEMS INCLUDING DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, BULLYING, FAMILIAL STRESSORS, PEER PRESSURE, AND ISSUES RELATED TO ONE'S GENDER AND/OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION. CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED FOR YOUTH EXPERIENCING SUICIDAL IDEATION IN ADDITION TO SERVICES FOR YOUTH WHO HAVE BROKEN THE LAW AND ARE IN NEED OF COMPLETING COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS.
YOUTH PROGRAMS/GROUP ACTIVITIES: A VARIETY OF AFTER-SCHOOL GROUPS PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH THEIR PEERS IN A SAFE AND THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT. PROGRAMS INCLUDE STUDY BUDDIES THAT PROVIDE ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND TUTORING, SOCIAL SKILLS SUPPORT, NEIGHBORHOOD BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS, MENTORING, AND PRIDE SUPPORT GROUPS.
PARENT/FAMILY SUPPORT: FAMILY SUPPORT IS OFFERED TO PARENTS WHO ARE IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL HELP AS IT RELATES TO THEIR CHILDREN. GROUPS INCLUDE A SPANISH-SPEAKING MOTHER'S SUPPORT GROUP AND GROUP FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WHO IDENTIFY AS LGBTQ+. EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS ALSO PROVIDED FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED AN UNFORESEEN FINANCIAL SETBACK AND NEED TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE WITH UTILITIES, RENT, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, CLOTHING, ETC.
