NOVA'S ANNUAL MEETING IS HELD TO PROVIDE VA NURSE ATTENDEES WITH INFORMATION THAT WILL ENHANCE THEIR ABILITY TO EMPOWER THE NURSING PROFESSION AND PROVIDE EVIDENCE-BASED CARE FOR VETERANS. THE MEETING PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS FROM VA NURSES, NATIONAL NURSING ORGANIZATIONS, THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS ON THE FUTURE OF NURSING AND EVIDENCE-BASED CARE.
NOVA PROVIDES ADVOCACY AND A STRONG VOICE ON CAPITOL HILL ON BEHALF OF VA NURSES AND THE VETERANS THEY CARE FOR. ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE ROUND TABLE EVENTS, LEGISLATIVE UPDATES AND PRIORITY GOALS, AND EDUCATION FOR MEMBERS.
NOVA OFFERS A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION FOR VA NURSES THROUGH WEBINARS AND EVENTS. MONTHLY WEBINARS ARE OFFERED ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES AND PATIENT SAFETY. NOVA ALSO DEVELOPS PARTNERSHIPS WITH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND CERTIFICATION BODIES TO OFFER DISCOUNTED EDUCATIONS PROGRAMS TO NOVA MEMBERS.
