THE MISSION OF THE SOCIETY OF ACADEMIC ASSOCIATIONS OF ANESTHESIOLOGY AND PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE (SAAAPM) IS TO BE THE ACADEMIC ANESTHESIOLOGY SOCIETY THAT EFFECTIVELY REPRESENTS, ADVOCATES, AND EDUCATES AROUND ISSUES PERTINENT TO ACADEMIC ANESTHESIOLOGY WITH THE PURPOSE OF ENHANCING ACADEMIC ANESTHESIOLOGY, EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND QUALITY CLINICAL CARE.

THE SOCIETY OF ACADEMIC ASSOCIATIONS OF ANESTHESIOLOGY AND PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE (SAAAPM) IS THE UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION FOR THE ASSOCIATION OF ACADEMIC ANESTHESIA CHAIRS (AAAC), THE ASSOCIATION OF ANESTHESIOLOGY CORE PROGRAM DIRECTORS (AACPD), THE ASSOCIATION OF ANESTHESIOLOGY SUBSPECIALTY PROGRAM DIRECTORS (AASPD), AND THE ASSOCIATION OF ANESTHESIOLOGY PROGRAM ADMINISTRATORS AND EDUCATORS (AAPAE). EACH INDIVIDUAL SOCIETY AND SAAAPM MEET TOGETHER EACH FALL FOR AN ANNUAL MEETING. THE MEETINGS PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION AND DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATIONAL, FINANCIAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES CONCERNING GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION IN ANESTHESIOLOGY.
