RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES - MILESTONE HAS 31 RESIDENTIAL GROUP HOMES FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES THROUGHOUT THE GREATER ROCKFORD AREA. EACH INDIVIDUAL ACTIVELY TAKES PART IN THE DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES OF CLEANING, COOKING, SHOPPING, ALONG WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. MILESTONE ALSO OPERATES A RESIDENTIAL FACILITY FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 21 WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY AS A PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS. THIS ENVIRONMENT PROVIDES A COMFORTABLE HOMELIKE ATMOSPHERE COMBINING HIGHLY SPECIALIZED SERVICES WITH AROUND THE CLOCK SUPERVISION AND NURSING CARE. INDIVIDUALS ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF HOME AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO PREPARE THEM FOR ADULT LIFE. PROGRAMS RANGE FROM DAILY LIVING SKILLS TO PERSONAL CARE, SAFETY AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING WITH MUSIC AND ART THERAPY PROGRAMS. LASTLY, MILESTONE OPERATES A RESIDENTIAL FACILITY FOR 74 ADULT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PHYSICALLY AND DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED AND MEDICALLY FRAGILE. THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE PROVIDED WITH A COMFORTABLE HOMELIKE ATMOSPHERE COMBINING HIGHLY SPECIALIZED SERVICES WITH AROUND THE CLOCK MEDICAL CARE. PERSONALIZED ATTENTION AND TRAINING IS PROVIDED TO HELP THE INDIVIDUAL DEVELOP DAILY LIVING SKILLS.
TRAINING CENTERS FACILITIES WHICH PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL, VOCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE RESIDENTS. MILESTONE PROVIDES DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING RANGING FROM SELF-CARE AND SOCIAL SKILLS TO EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS TO ADULTS WITH BOTH PHYSICAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE GOAL IS TO TEACH THE INDIVIDUAL THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE COMMUNITY INCLUSION WHILE ENHANCING SELF-ESTEEM. VOLUNTEERING IN THE COMMUNITY IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROGRAM. MTC INDIVIDUALS HAVE HELPED EASTER SEALS, THE ROCKFORD PARK DISTRICT, THE SALVATION ARMY, THE VENETIAN CLUB AND MANY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.
DENTAL PROGRAM- PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTATIVE AND GENERAL DENTISTRY INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED FOR EACH ADULT AND CHILD WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES FROM 32 COUNTIES IN ILLINOIS. INDIVIDUALS OF ANY AGE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES. ONLY INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO BECOME PATIENTS.
