WE ARE DEDICATED TO MAKING CASS COUNTY'S DOWNTOWN BETWEEN-THE-RIVERS DISTRICT A VIABLE PLACE TO OPERATE A BUSINESS, A REWARDING PLACE TO LIVE, AND A FUN PLACE TO VISIT.

A REWARDING PLACE TO LIVE: ART IS APPEALING TO THE BUSINESS OWNERS AND RESIDENCES. NEW ART PANELS WERE INSTALLED ON THE SIDE OF A LOCAL BUSINESS'S BUILDING TO ENRICH TRAVELERS GOING THROUGH OUR CITY AS WELL AS THE LOCAL PEOPLE. A PROJECT IS ALSO ONGOING TO INSTALL A STATUE IN A DOWNTOWN PARK CELEBRATING THE IMMIGRANT HISTORY OF THE CITY OF LOGANSPORT.
A FUN PLACE TO VISIT: VARIOUS EVENTS ARE CONDUCTED IN THE DOWNTOWN TO BRING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY TOGETHER. ONE EVENT IS A CELEBRATION OF THE CITY OF LOGANSPORT'S BIRTHDAY. ABOUT 650 PEOPLE ATTEND EACH YEAR. ANOTHER EVENT IS A FESTIVAL BRING THE FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS AND THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER. FUN ACTIVITIES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES ARE PROVIDED. ABOUT 1000 PEOPLE ATTEND EACH YEAR. 50+ VOLUNTEERS HELP US PUT ON THE FESTIVAL. OTHER FUN ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED DOWNTOWN INCLUDE "SCARECROW ROW", "DOWNTOWN SPOOKTACULAR", "DOWNTOWN CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE", AND "GREEN & CLEAN DAY". SCARECROW ROW IS A CONTEST TO SEE WHO CAN CREATE THE BEST SCARECROW. THE COMMUNITY VOTES ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE. WE HAD 38 SCARECROWS THIS YEAR. SPOOKTACULAR IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARADE WHERE PEOPLE ARE INVITED TO VISIT THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES. WE HAD 30 BUSINESSES PARTICIPATE AND OVER A THOUSAND TRICK-OR-TREATERS PARTICIPATE. DOWNTOWN CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE ALSO HAS THE COMMUNITY INVITED TO DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES. IN 2018, WE HAD 16 BUSINESSES PARTICIPATE AND APPROXIMATELY 350 ATTENDEES. AND, GREEN & CLEAN DAY IS WHERE THE COMMUNITY GETS TOGETHER TO HELP CLEAN UP THE DOWNTOWN AFTER WINTER HAS PASSED. WE HAD CLOSE TO 100 VOLUNTEERS HELPING WITH THE GREEN & CLEAN DAY THIS YEAR.
A VIABLE PLACE TO OPERATE A BUSINESS: WE PROVIDE FUNDING OF FACADE IMPROVEMENTS, WHETHER NEW CONSTRUCTION OR REPAIRS TO EXISTING FACADES, AT 50% OF COST, UP TO $5,000. THIS YEAR, WE PROVIDED FUNDING TO TWO LOCAL BUSINESSES. SINCE THE FAADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM STARTED IN 2007, FAADE IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO 45 BUILDINGS, THEREBY LEVERAGING $155,516.39 OF FAADE FUNDS INTO $438,951.42 OF TOTAL INVESTMENT IN DOWNTOWN BUILDINGS.
