THE YMCA'S MISSION IS TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

HEALTHY LIVING YMCAS FOCUS ON HEALTHY LIVING BY ADVOCATING HEALTH AND WELL-BEING FROM THE INSIDE OUT - THE SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. THE YMCA PROVIDES NEARLY 4,500 PEOPLE WITH THE SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND ENVIRONMENTS THAT THEY NEED FOR THEIR SUCCESSFUL PURSUIT OF HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT AS OUR NATION STRUGGLES WITH AN OBESITY CRISIS, FAMILIES STRUGGLE WITH WORK/LIFE BALANCE AND INDIVIDUALS SEARCH FOR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT. WE BRING FAMILIES TOGETHER, AND OFFER SPORT, RECREATIONAL AND SOCIAL NETWORKS THAT BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND STRENGTHEN BOND. OUR PROGRAMS ARE ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE AND OPEN TO ALL FAITHS, BACKGROUNDS, ABILITIES AND INCOME LEVELS. OUR YMCA PROVIDES 32 DIFFERENT GROUP EXERCISE PROGRAMS FOR OUR COMMUNITY. INCLUDING A STEADY STRONG PROGRAM THAT HELPS THOSE WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE. WE ALSO OFFER AN AQUACISE PROGRAM IN OUR POOL FOR ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS, THAT ENGAGES 60 MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY EVERY DAY.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT THE YMCA IS A LEADER IN NURTURING THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY CHILD AND TEEN EVERY DAY. THE YMCA HELPS YOUNG PEOPLE DEEPEN POSITIVE VALUES, THEIR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE, AND THEIR MOTIVATION TO LEARN OUR YMCA PROGRAMS, SUCH AS BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE, SUMMER DAY CAMPS, SPORTS CAMPS, YOUTH SPORTS, PRESCHOOL SPORTS, AND YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE YMCA YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT PROGRAM. FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN DRAWING ON DIVERSE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WE PROVIDE SUMMER FULL AND PART TIME OPTIONS TO SERVICE A WIDE RANGE OF FAMILY SCHEDULING NEEDS. WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF THE YMCA MISSION IS A COMMITMENT OF STRENGTHENING FAMILIES. YMCA PROGRAMS RELIEVE THE BURDEN OF BALANCING WORK AND FAMILY THAT MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN IN OUR CARE TO REMAIN GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, KNOWING THEIR CHILDREN ARE THRIVING IN A SAFE DEVELOPMENTALLY SOUND ENVIRONMENT. THE YMCA PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR YOUTH SERVICES BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE FAMILIES. OUR YMCA SERVED OVER 100 CHILDREN PER DAY IN OUR SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAM AND HAD OVER 223 DIFFERENT CHILDREN IN OUR SCHOOL YEAR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. OUR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS ARE NOW OFFERED IN 4 OF THE 5 PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS. ANOTHER PROGRAM THAT CONTINUES TO GROW EACH YEAR IS OUR HOME SCHOOL GYM AND SWIM PROGRAM, WHERE WE AVERAGE 60 CHILDREN EVERY FRIDAY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
OUR YMCA PROVIDES A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS TO DEVELOP PERSONAL EDUCATION/ VOCATIONAL/LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND WE PARTNER WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO IDENTIFY AND RESPOND TO COMMUNITY NEEDS. YMCA PROGRAMS, SUCH AS SWIM LESSONS, CORPORATE CHALLENGE AND COLLABORATION WITH OTHER NON-PROFITS TO HOST COMMUNITY EVENTS ARE EXAMPLES OF HOW OUR YMCA DEVELOPS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY THAT STRENGTHENS OUR COMMUNITY AND BUILDS THE FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO THRIVE. WE PROVIDE OVER 100,000 A YEAR IN DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE IN NEED FOR MEMBERSHIP AND PROGRAMS.
