BALLET SCHOOL - THE BALLET SCHOOL OFFERS A CURRICULUM WHOSE CORNERSTONE IS CLASSICAL BALLET, WITH A CONTEMPORARY AND ADULT DIVISION AS WELL AS CLASSES FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. THE SCHOOL ALSO PRESENTS SUMMER CLASSES CONDUCTED BY INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN INSTRUCTORS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, AND OFFERS SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS FOR ASPIRING BALLERINAS. THE SCHOOL SERVED 286 STUDENTS FROM ALL LEVELS DURING THE SIX MONTH PERIOD ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2018. EVERY TOLEDO BALLET INSTRUCTOR IS DEDICATED TO HELPING EACH STUDENT REACH HIS OR HER HIGHEST POTENTIAL THROUGH INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION. THE TOLEDO BALLET BELIEVES THAT LEARNING DANCE IS MUCH MORE THAN MASTERING POSITIONS AND MEMORIZING STEPS. IT IS ABOUT HELPING THE STUDENTS GAIN CONFIDENCE AND SELF-ESTEEM WHILE LEARNING DISCIPLINE AND PERSEVERENCE.
PUBLIC PERFORMANCES - THE TOLEDO BALLET PRODUCES TWO FULL-SCALE PRODUCTIONS PER YEAR. ITS NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCE IS THE LONGEST CONSECUTIVELY RUNNING ANNUAL PRODUCTION IN THE NATION. EVERY SPRING, THE TOLEDO BALLET ALSO PRESENTS AN ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY PRODUCTION FEATURING THE TOLEDO BALLET COMPANY. THE SPRING PRODUCTION CHANGES ANNUALLY, BUT ALWAYS PROVIDES UNSURPASSED PERFORMANCE QUALITY.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM - THE TOLEDO BALLET SERVES AS A DANCE-EDUCATION RESOURCE FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. THE TOLEDO BALLET HAS IMPLEMENTED ART IN EDUCATION IN NORTHWEST OHIO SCHOOLS ALONG WITH OTHER OUTREACH ACTIVITIES. DURING THE SIX MONTH PERIOD ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2018, MORE THAN 2,300 DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS FROM TOLEDOS INNER CITY PARTICIPATED IN TOLEDO BALLETS OUTREACH PROGRAMS. THE TOLEDO BALLET HAS ALSO COLLABORATED WITH OTHER NOT-FOR-PROFIT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS WITH AN OUTLET TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES AND FEEL THE SHEER JOY OF DANCE.
