OUR VALUES ARE DEEPLY ROOTED IN INVESTING IN PEOPLE, AND DEVELOPING LEADERS SO THAT TOGETHER WE CAN TRANSFORM COMMUNITY. WE INVITE THE BUILDING OF RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN EAST CLEVELAND, AND WITH OTHER COMMUNITIES, PARTNER INSTITUTIONS, AND ALLIES. AS WE FIGHT TO BRING EQUITY AND FAIRNESS, EAST CLEVELAND CAN MODEL LOCAL AND REGIONAL SUCCESS. NOAH WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVES REGIONAL HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY MUST BE MEASURED BY HOW EQUITABLE ALL OUR COMMUNITIES ARE.
THE NORTHEAST OHIO ALLIANCE FOR HOPE (NOAH) IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NON-PROFIT (501C3) ORGANIZATION THROUGH WHICH NORTHEAST OHIO RESIDENTS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND ALLIED ORGANIZATIONS WORK TO ERADICATE POVERTY, ESTABLISH RACIAL JUSTICE, PROMOTE REGIONAL EQUITY, AND LIBERATE PEOPLE. ESTABLISHED IN 1997, NOAH BELIEVES THAT RESIDENTS THEMSELVES HOLD THE SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THEREFORE, WE TRAIN AND DEVELOP LOCAL LEADERSHIP BY IDENTIFYING COMMON ISSUES AND CREATING COLLECTIVE, STRATEGIC WAYS TO ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES WHILE SYSTEMATICALLY STRENGTHENING INSTITUTIONS. IN 2007, NOAHS LEADERSHIP MADE A STRATEGIC DECISION TO CONCENTRATE ITS EFFORTS IN THE COMMUNITY OF EAST CLEVELAND, ONE OF THE POOREST AND DISINVESTED COMMUNITIES IN NORTHEAST OHIO. SINCE THAT TIME NOAH HAS COMMITTED ITSELF TO THE REVITALIZATION OF THE COMMUNITY OF EAST CLEVELAND. NOAH SERVES AS A SOUNDING BOARD FOR RESIDENTS AND HAS PROVED ITSELF TO BE A CONSISTENT AND TRUSTED COMMUNITY PARTNER IN THE COMMUNITY OF EAST CLEVELAND.
