SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR KIDS PROVIDES NEW CLOTHING, SHOES, AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO NEEDY CHILDREN IN CLEVELAND.

SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR KIDS (SC4K) SERVES MORE THAN 20,000 STUDENTS AND NEARLY 4,000 TEACHERS PER YEAR WITH NEW SCHOOL-APPROPRIATE CLOTHING, SHOES, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AND MORE. THE CLOTHING, SHOE GIFT CARDS, AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES ARE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH A NETWORK OF NEARLY 30 NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRIBUTION PARTNERS, A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CLEVELAND METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND A RETAIL-LIKE STORE WHERE TEACHERS CAN SHOP FOR FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES. RESULTS SHOW THAT SOME STUDENTS WITH SIGNIFICANT RATES OF ABSENCE IMPROVE THEIR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE UP TO 25% IN THE 30 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING SC4K SERVICES. SC4K IS WORKING WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IT SERVES IN ORDER TO BROADEN ITS IMPACT.
