THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS. SERVICES PROVIDED TO MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PATIENTS ARE SOMETIMES PROVIDED BELOW COST. TO THE EXTENT REIMBURSEMENT IS BELOW COST, THE HOSPITAL RECOGNIZES THESE AMOUNTS AS CHARITY CARE. CHARITY CARE IS ALSO PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BASED UPON ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES WHICH THE HOSPITAL BELIEVES WILL SERVE A BONA FIDE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEED.
