THE OHIO HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATION (OHCA) IS AN INFORMATION AND EDUCATION RESOURCE TO OHIO'S LONG-TERM CARE PROVIDERS, THEIR SUPPLIERS, CONSULTANTS AND TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE. AT THE END OF 2021 OHCA HAD 1172 MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS WITH 74,886 BEDS, ALONG WITH 311 ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. THE MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED 151 ID/DD FACILITIES, 26 ID/DD WAIVER PROVIDERS, 306 ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITIES, 51 HOME CARE PROVIDERS AND 32 HOSPICE PROVIDERS. OHCA ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERS WITH THE LEGISLATIVE AND EXECUTIVE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT ABOUT ISSUES THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE LONG-TERM CARE PROFESSION. THROUGH OHCA'S EDUCATION FOUNDATION, THEY OFFERED 67 SCHOLARSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS ATTENDING HEALTH PROFESSION SCHOOLS AND 8 CERTIFICATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PROFESSIONALS, ALONG WITH 137 LIVE WEBINARS WITH 3,790 PARTICIPANTS AND 26 IN PERSON PROGRAMS WITH 834 PARTICIPANTS. CONVENTION OFFERED 112 EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS FOR 1,387 PARTICIPANTS, 1,005 EXHIBIT BOOTH PERSONNEL AND 276 EXHIBIT BOOTHS OHCA ALSO PROVIDES PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAMMING TO PROMOTE THE LONG-TERM CARE PROFESSIONAL.
OHCA PROVIDED NUMEROUS INFORMATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS TO MEMBERS, INCLUDING A WEEKLY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER FOR SKILLED NURSING, ID/DD, HOME CARE, HOSPICE & ASSISTED LIVING AND VARIOUS MEMBER BULLETINS. OHCA ALSO OFFERED IN 2021, PROGRAMS UNDER WHICH MEMBERS RECEIVE DISCOUNTS ON GOODS AND SERVICES FROM VENDORS, PLUS SOLD LONG-TERM CARE RESOURCE MATERIALS TO MEMBERS AND OTHERS.
