THE ACQUISITION, PRESERVATION, AND RESTORATION OF ALL OF BOLSA CHICA AND THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC TO ITS NATURAL WONDERS AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE.

MANAGED A COMPREHENSIVE WETLAND SUSTAINABILITY STUDY PROJECT; NATIVE HABITAT RESTORATION ACTIVITIES; STAFFING, PLANNING, PURCHASE OF PLANTS, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES AND IRRIGATION FOR LARGE-SCALE HABITAT RESTORATION ON THE BOLSA CHICA MESA. THE ON-GOING PROJECT IS IN COOPERATION WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE, WHO MANAGE THE RESERVE, AND UTILIZES THE EFFORTS OF THE MANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS IN THE PROJECT.


HOSTED NUMEROUS COMMUNITY PROGRAMS, FOCUSED ON EDUCATION AND OUTREACH TO THE PUBLIC ON THE BIOLOGICAL AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCES OF BOLSA CHICA. SUPPORTED THE RESERVE AND THE PUBLIC BY FUNDING EDUCATIONAL SIGNAGE, DEVELOPED VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL TOURS, THE PRODUCTION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS.


PROVIDED "MIRCLES OF MARSH" EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM THROUGH VIRTUAL MEANS TO 21 SCHOOLS LOCATED IN 12 SURROUNDING CITIES. THE PROGRAM MEETS NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS FOR THE THIRD GRADE LEVEL AND IN 2020 INCORPORATED A VIDEO PRESENTATION, DOWNLOADABLE STUDENT WORKBOOKS AND SUPPORTING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, AND A VIRTUAL INTERACTIVE TOUR OF THE RESERVE. THE PROGRAM IS FREE OF CHARGE TO THE PARTICIPATING SHCOOLS.
