STAND UP AMERICA ADVOCATES FOR PROGRESSIVE GOVERNMENT POLICIES THAT WILL STRENGTHEN OUR DEMOCRACY AND INCREASE ACCESS TO VOTING AND OPPOSES CONSERVATIVE POLICIES THAT THREATEN OUR DEMOCRACY AND OUR FREEDOM TO VOTE. WE EDUCATE AND MOBILIZE OUR MEMBERS USING EMAIL, SMS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS, AS WELL AS MOBILIZE ACTIVISTS OUTSIDE OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH PEER-TO-PEER TEXTING, DIGITAL ADS, AND A ROBUST INFLUENCER PROGRAM THAT USES SOCIAL MEDIA AND BROADCAST TEXTS.IN 2023, STAND UP AMERICA'S MEMBERS TOOK ACTION IN EVERY STATE TO COMBAT VOTER SUPPRESSION, EXPAND ACCESS TO THE BALLOT BOX, FIGHT CORRUPTION, REFORM THE SUPREME COURT AND BUILD A MORE REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY. TOGETHER, THEY MADE MORE THAN 22,000 CONSTITUENT CALLS, SENT OVER 291,000 EMAILS TO LAWMAKERS, AND SUBMITTED OVER 31,000 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR IN SUPPORT OF STATE AND FEDERAL MEASURES TO PROTECT AND EXPAND VOTING RIGHTS AND STRENGTHEN OUR DEMOCRACY.AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL, STAND UP AMERICA WORKED TO REFORM THE SUPREME COURT BY ADVOCATING FOR A BINDING CODE OF ETHICS, TERM LIMITS, AND EXPANDING THE COURT, AS WELL AS FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF SUPREME COURT JUSTICES CLARENCE THOMAS AND SAMUEL ALITO. IN ADDITION TO DRIVING OVER 200,000 CALLS AND EMAILS TO LAWMAKERS IN SUPPORT OF SUPREME COURT REFORM LEGISLATION, WE ALSO DELIVERED OVER 400,000 CONSTITUENT LETTERS TO THE U.S. SENATE CALLING ON THE SENATE TO INVESTIGATE THOMAS AND ALITO AND TO HOLD A VOTE ON A BINDING CODE OF ETHICS. WE WORKED TO FIGHT AGAINST FEDERAL CORRUPTION BY SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATING FOR THE EXPULSION OF REP. GEORGE SANTOS FOR HIS VIOLATIONS OF CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS, FIGHTING TO PROTECT THE OFFICE OF CONGRESSIONAL ETHICS, AND WORKING TO PASS A BAN ON CONGRESSIONAL STOCK TRADING. OUR MEMBERS MADE OVER 12,000 CALLS TO CONGRESS CALLING FOR REP. SANTOS'S EXPULSION AND SENT OVER 30,000 CONSTITUENT EMAILS CALLING FOR HIS EXPULSION AND THE PRESERVATION OF THE OFFICE OF CONGRESSIONAL ETHICS.WE ALSO ADVOCATED AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL TO EXPAND ACCESS TO THE BALLOT BOX, INCLUDING BY DRIVING OVER 14,000 CONSTITUENT EMAILS IN SUPPORT OF FUNDING FOR ELECTION INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE FEDERAL BUDGET AND OVER 5,000 CONSTITUENT EMAILS IN SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION THAT WOULD RESTORE THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN FEDERAL ELECTIONS TO PEOPLE WITH FELONY CONVICTIONS.AT THE STATE LEVEL, STAND UP AMERICA JOINED WITH LOCAL COALITIONS TO HELP PASS LEGISLATION TO EXPAND ACCESS TO THE BALLOT BOX IN MINNESOTA AND NEW MEXICO, ENACT UNIVERSAL VOTE-BY-MAIL LEGISLATION AND FUND THE NEW SMALL DOLLAR MATCHING PROGRAM IN NEW YORK, AND ENACT A STATE VOTING RIGHTS ACT IN CONNECTICUT. WE ALSO HELPED DEFEAT VOTER SUPPRESSION LEGISLATION IN ALABAMA, PREVENT THE BASELESS IMPEACHMENT OF A STATE SUPREME COURT JUDGE IN WISCONSIN, AND ADVOCATED FOR LEGISLATION THAT WOULD HAVE MODERNIZED ELECTIONS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, RE-ENFRANCHISED INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS IN OREGON AND ILLINOIS, ADDED MICHIGAN TO THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INTERSTATE COMPACT, AND ALLOWED FOR SAME DAY VOTER REGISTRATION IN NEW JERSEY. OUR MEMBERS MADE NEARLY 4,000 PHONE CALLS AND SENT OVER 17,000 EMAILS ACROSS THESE STATE CAMPAIGNS.FINALLY, STAND UP AMERICA HELPED DEFEAT A BALLOT INITIATIVE IN OHIO THAT WOULD HAVE MADE IT HARDER FOR OHIOANS TO HAVE A DIRECT VOICE IN POLICIES THAT IMPACT THEM BY RAISING THE THRESHOLD FOR PASSING BALLOT AMENDMENTS. OUR VOLUNTEERS SIGNED UP FOR OVER 475 VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AND TEXTED OVER 1.4 MILLION VOTERS.IN MANY OF THE ABOVE STATE LEVEL LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS, STAND UP AMERICA ALSO PROVIDED DIGITAL SUPPORT TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, FROM SETTING UP CALL LINES AND EMAIL TOOLS FOR USE BY LOCAL ADVOCATES OUTSIDE OUR COMMUNITY TO RUNNING DIGITAL ADS RUNNING PEER TO PEER PROGRAMS. IN SOME INSTANCES WE ALSO PROVIDED EARNED MEDIA SUPPORT, INCLUDING OUTREACH TO SPANISH MEDIA.
