THE IOWA AGRICULTURE WATER ALLIANCE (IAWA) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO INCREASING THE PACE AND SCALE OF FARMER-LED EFFORTS TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY. IAWA FOCUSES ON SCIENCE-BASED PRACTICES PROVEN TO HAVE QUANTIFIABLE WATER QUALITY BENEFITS. IAWA WAS FOUNDED BY THE IOWA CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION, IOWA SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION AND IOWA PORK PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION.

CONSERVATION & ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: IAWA IS SCALING UP THE ADOPTION OF CONSERVATION PRACTICES, CONSERVATION PLANNING, AND WATERSHED PLANNING TO IMPROVE WATER QUALITY AND FURTHER EFFORTS TO IMPLEMENT THE IOWA NUTRIENT REDUCTION STRATEGY WHICH HAS A GOAL OF REDUCING THE NITROGEN AND PHOSPHOROUS LOADING IN IOWA'S WATERWAYS BY 45%.
COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH: IAWA IS FOCUSED ON COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH TO FARMERS TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO ADOPT CONSERVATION PRACTICES AND COMMUNICATIONS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC REGARDING THE CHALLENGES, OPPORTUNITIES AND PROGESS IN IMPROVING WATER QUALITY.
