MISSOURI RIVER RELIEF HOSTED OR PARTICIPATED IN 16 RIVER CLEAN-UPS IN 2021, UTILIZING THE HELP OF 1,296 VOLUNTEERS WHO HELPED REMOVE MORE THAN 42 TONS OF TRASH FROM THE RIVER'S ENVIRONMENT 161 MILES OF STREAM BANKS WERE CLEANED IN COMMUNITIES FROM ST. LOUIS TO OMAHA.
MISSOURI RIVER RELIEF HOSTED NUMEROUS EDUCATION EVENTS FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS, YOUNG ADULTS, AND ADULTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE COMBINE PLACE-BASED EDUCATION AND INQUIRY-BASED SCIENCE FOR BOTH FORMAL AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATORS IN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. IN 2021, RIVER RELIEF WORKED WITH 4,152 STUDENTS AND 248 TEACHERS.
MISSOURI RIVER RELIEF HOLDS OUTREACH EVENTS IN ORDER TO EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION AND OUR EFFORTS ON THE MISSOURI RIVER.
