THE STAPLES MOTLEY MUSIC BOOSTERS ACCOUNTED FOR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS OF THE STAPLES MOTLEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM, THE PROCEEDS OF WHICH WERE USED TO TAKE THEIR MUSICAL TALENTS ON THE ROAD FOR A MUSIC TOUR.
CENTRAL MN BARN QUILTS - OBTAINED SUPPLIES FOR HOLDING A BARN QUILT CLASS. BARN QUILTS ARE DISPLAYED AROUND TOWN AS A TOURIST ATTRACTION. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY - PURCHASE ITEMS AND PROVIDE GRANTS TO SUPPORT PROGRAMMING FOR THE LOCAL PUBLIC LIBRARY. HEALTH CONNECTIONS PROVIDES A FORUM FOR COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES OF TODD AND WADENA COUNTIES. THE MAJOR FOCUS POINTS FOR THE YEAR WERE LACTATION & CAR SEAT CLASSES. HOOKED ON FISHING - ASSISTED A LOCAL GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS IN PLANNING A "HOOKED ON FISHING, NOT DRUGS" EVENT FOR LOCAL KIDS. HELD A CANDIDATE FORUM AND ENCOURAGED VOTERS TO GET OUT AND VOTE. ASSISTED IN PROVIDING FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR BANNERS TO BE DISPLAYED ON CITY STREETS AT GRADUATION. ASSISTED OTHER LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN PROVIDING HOLIDAY MEALS AND CHRISTMAS 4 KIDS. ASSISTED WITH LOCAL GRADBLAST CELEBRATION FOR GRADUATING SENIORS. ASSISTED LOCAL CEMETERY WITH LAWN MOWER PURCHASE. SISTERS WITH SASS - ASSISTED THE GROUP WITH ATTENDING A MENTAL HEALTH CONFERENCE. THE GROUP IS A WOMEN'S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOCUSED ON EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH WORK, EDUCATION, AND WELL-BEING. EVENTS - HELPED SUPPORT THE CITY OF STAPLES WITH ITS SUMMER CELEBRATION. STAPLES MOTLEY ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME PURCHASED A DIGITAL KIOSK TO DISPLAY ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PRODUCED A HALL OF FAME BOOKLET FOR THE ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY. ASSISTED THE STAPLES MOTLEY PARENT TEACHER CONNECTION WITH AN EVENT. SPARKS MENTORING PROGRAM IS A NEW PROGRAM WHERE MENTORS VOLUNTEER IN SCHOOL TO BUILD CHILDREN'TS ACADEMIC SKILLS, SELF AWARENESS, COMMUNICATION, AND RELATIONSHIPS BY BECOMING A READING BUDDY OR LUNCHTIME BUDDY. MENTORS ARE TRAINED ON READING STRATEGIES AND BUILDING COMMUNICATION AND CARING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILDREN. THE PROJECT WILL SPIN OFF IN THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR AS A NEW 501(C)(3) ENTITY. HIGH SCHOOL BOOSTER CLUBS (CHEERLEADING, BASEBALL, GOLF, SOFTBALL, SPEECH AND VOLLEYBALL) - PAY TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION FEES, UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES OF THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS.
