The goal of this organization is to develop, maintain and make available to the general public recreational areas which are equipped with athletic fields and courts, campgrounds, picnic areas and a variety of recreational trails such as bridle trails, hiking trails, off-the-road vehicle trails and snowmobile trails.

DETERMINE THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF THE DISTRICT THROUGH FOCUS GROUP MEETINGS AND DECIDE WHICH OPTIONS PROVIDE THE MOST BENEFITS FOR THE COMMUNITY AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, 5. BUILDING A STRONGER STAPLES COMMUNITY THAT WILL ENRICH THE QUALITY OF LIFE NOW AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS, 6. DETERMINE THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH FOCUS GROUP MEETINGS AND DECIDE WHICH OPTIONS PROVIDE THE MOST BENEFITS FOR THE COMMUNITY AND BUSINESSES, 7. FACILITATE THE CITIZENS, CITY GOVERNMENT, AND BUSINESSES IN STAPLES TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION AND PLANNING AND WORK TOGETHER ON PROJECTS.

THE FIVE WINGS ARTS COUNCIL ENCOURAGES AND PROMOTES ARTS CREATION, APPRECIATION, AND EDUCATION THROUGH GRANT PROGRAMS AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MINNESOTA RESIDENTS IN CASS, CROW WING, MORRISON, TODD, AND WADENA COUNTIES.

THE LIONS CLUB PROVIDES HUMANITARIAN SERVICES TO THE LOCAL AREA OF STAPLES.

THE FORUM OF REGIONAL ARTS COUNCILS OF MINNESOTA IS A CONSORTIUM OF THE ELEVEN REGIONAL ARTS COUNCILS THAT SERVE ALL MINNESOTA COUNTIES, PROVIDING CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL COUNCILS THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF BEST PRACTICES IN PROGRAMMING, MANAGEMENT, AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND INFORMATION FOR MINNESOTA ARTISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS. THE FORUM PROVIDES A MEANS FOR REGIONAL ARTS COUNCILS TO WORK ON COMMON COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS THAT SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE STATEWIDE ARTS COMMUNITY, WORK ON COMMON ISSUES AND CONCERNS, PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR REGIONAL ARTS COUNCIL DIRECTORS TO NETWORK WITH THEIR STATEWIDE COUNTERPARTS AND TAKE PART IN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES RELATED TO GRANT MAKING, LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT.

[Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]
