MEMBERS CONTINUE TO ADDRESS THEIR STRATEGIC PLANNING PRIORITIES OF AGRIBUSINESS AND TOURISM DEVELOPMENT, HIGHWAY 275 EXPANSION TO FOUR LANES, HOUSING AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT.

DEVELOPED FARMLAND BORDERING THE CITY LIMITS TO HELP INDIVIDUALS BUILD HOMES AND ASSIST BUSINESSES TO EXPAND OR ESTABLISH NEW OPERATIONS. A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ENGINEERING FIRM HAS BEEN HIRED TO GUIDE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GRANDVIEW ADDITION. THE LAND WAS GRADED, A RESIDENTIAL STREET HAS BEEN PAVED AND UTILITIES ARE BEING INSTALLED.
DURING THE YEAR, WISNER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT HOSTED A PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE ATTENDEES TO ASSESS CHANGES IN THEIR COMMUNITY AND HELP ACHIEVE FUTURE GROWTH; PARTICIPATED IN STRATEGIC PLANNING WITH THE CITY; HELD A SESSION TO GET YOUNG ADULTS MORE INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY PROJECTS; WORKED WITH THE CITY TO GET TAX INCREMENT FINANCING FOR THE NEW ADDITION AND CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF THE ADDITION; ASSISTED NEW AND PROSPECTIVE BUSINESSES.
RECRUITED A DENTIST TO WISNER WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF NEBRASKA OFFICE OF RURAL HEALTH. WISNER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGREED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEBRASKA LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM FOR DR STEVEN READY AS PART OF THE RECRUITMENT PACKAGE.
