HELPING HANDS PANTRY OPERATES A FOOD PANTRY TO PROVIDE FOOD AT NO COST TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED IN THE NAPLES AND THE SURROUNDING AREA CONSISTENT WITH SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED. HELPING HANDS DIRECTLY ASSISTS LOCAL RESIDENTS WHO SUFFER FROM HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY BY PROVIDING BASIC NEED ITEMS, AND DISTRIBUTING FOOD BOXES AND OTHER PERSONAL CARE ITEMS. APPROXIMATELY 60 INDIVIDUALS COME TO THE PANTRY EACH FRIDAY FOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION FOR THEIR FAMILIES. THE 60 INDIVIDUALS TRANSLATES INTO APPROXIMATELY 300-350 PERSONS SERVED WEEKLY. THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF ITEMS A PERSON CAN TAKE IS DEPENDENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF ITEMS, WHICH FLUCTUATES FROM WEEK TO WEEK. AN AVERAGE OF 10-30 ITEMS ARE PROVIDED, PER PERSON, ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
