CANDIDATE- SUMMER WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES: THE FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES ARE STAGED EVERY TWO YEARS IN A DIFFERENT CITY. THE CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY SPORTS AND CULTURE DRAWS MANY THOUSANDS OF STUDENT ATHLETES TOGETHER TO COMPETE, MAKING IT AMONG THE WORLD'S LARGEST AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS MULTI-SPORT EVENTS. AFTER YEARS OF WORK, NORTH CAROLINA WAS SELECTED TO BE THE UNITED STATES' HOST CITY PARTNER IN AMERICA'S BID FOR THE 2027 GAMES. IN FEBRUARY 2022, FISU ANNOUNCED THAT NORTH CAROLINA/ USA WAS CONFIRMED AS ONE OF TWO BID FINALISTS. THE WINNER, SOUTH KOREA, WAS ANNOUNCED IN NOVEMBER 2022.
