THE ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION EXISTS TO PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE, DIRECT AND OPERATE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH OF THE ARCHER COMMUNITY IN GWINNETT COUNTY. THE ASSOCIATION WILL STRIVE TO PROMOTE GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP THROUGH ITS ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. AAA GOALS INCLUDE THE TEACHING OF PROPER SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES, INSTRUCTING THE PRINCIPLE OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, EMPHASIZING PHYSICAL FITNESS, PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR FUN AND ENJOYMENT, THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TEAMWORK ATTITUDE, PROMOTION OF PRIDE IN ONE'S SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT, RECOGNITION IN ONE'S SHORTCOMINGS, THE ACCEPTANCE OF DEFEAT, AND THE JOYS ASSOCIATED WITH WINNING.

THE ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (AAA) CONTINUED TO BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN RECREATIONAL TEAM SPORTS. THESE PROGRAMS ENCOURAGED AND PROMOTED HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR THESE YOUTH BY KEEPING THEM PHYSICALLY ACTIVE WHILE SUPPORTING GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND TEAMWORK IN A SAFE AND FUN ATMOSPHERE. 2023 WAS AN OUTSTANDING YEAR FOR THE ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (AAA). AAA PARTNERED WITH THE GWINNETT COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION TO PROVIDE ABUNDANT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH TEAM SPORTS. THESE ACTIVITIES PROMOTED AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH OF OUR YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES AS EVERYONE HAS WORKED TO RETURN TO A SENSE OF NORMALCY AFTER TWO YEARS OF COVID MITIGATION PROCEDURES SEVERELY LIMITED SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL INTERACTION. AAA REGISTERED 2,500 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS IN OUR PROGRAMS IN 2023. ALL OUR SPORTS PROGRAMS HAVE ACHIEVED SUCCESS ON THE PLAYING FIELD WHILE ALSO BEING RECOGNIZED AS MODELS OF ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND THE PROMOTION OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND CHARACTER AMONG OUR VOLUNTEERS AND PARTICIPANTS. ALL PARTICIPANTS WERE PROVIDED UNIFORMS, COACHING AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD. AAA CONTINUES TO WORK IN COOPERATION WITH GWINNETT COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION TO KEEP OUR PARKS CLEAN AND SAFE AND, HELP CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY LEARN AND DEVELOP SKILLS ON AND OFF THE FIELD. IN THE FALL/WINTER OF 2023, AAA MADE A SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT TOWARDS THIS GOAL BY RENOVATING OUR BATTING CAGES AT OUR BASEBALL/SOFTBALL PARK. THIS DISPLAYS OUR CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THE KIDS USING THE FACILITIES AND WILL HELP ASSIST OUR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PARTICIPANTS GROW IN OUR AAA PROGRAMS. THESE FACILITY UPGRADES WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO USE THE PARK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. AAA CONTINUES TO PAY FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND MONITORING FEES FOR THE LIGHTNING DETECTION/WARNING SYSTEM INSTALLED AT THE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL AND FOOTBALL/SOCCER PARKS. ADDITIONALLY, ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION HOSTED MULTIPLE SOCCER CAMPS, BASEBALL CLINICS, AND SPEED AND AGILITY CAMPS. THESE CAMPS WERE AVAILABLE FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS AND HELPED CHILDREN LEARN AND GROW IN THEIR SPORTS JOURNEY AND THEIR OVERALL DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH JOURNEY. ON THE FIELD, WE HAD A SUCCESSFUL YEAR AS WELL. ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION BASEBALL WAS ABLE TO SECURE A SPOT AS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL PARTNERS WITH THE ATLANTA BRAVES COUNTRY BASEBALL ORGANIZATION. IN ADDITION TO THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT, OUR TRAVEL AND ALL-STAR TEAMS PLAYED IN OVER 30 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2023. ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL PROGRAM WAS THE 12U ALL STAR RUNNER UP. ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION CHEER PROGRAM HAD TWO TEAMS (1ST/2ND GRADE AND 5TH GRADE) WON 1ST PLACE, 3RD GRADE WON SECOND PLACE, AND 6TH AND 8TH GRADE 3RD PLACE IN THE 2023 GFL CHEER OFF. IN TOTAL, 5 OUT OF 7 TEAMS WENT HOME WITH TROPHIES THESE PROGRAMS ALONG WITH ALL OTHERS DISPLAYED ORGANIZATIONAL EXCELLENCE, PROMOTION OF SPORTSMANSHIP AMONG PARTICIPANTS, AND HOSPITALITY TO VISITORS. REPRESENTATIVES OF AAA CONTINUE TO WORK CLOSELY WITH THE GWINNETT COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION TO ADVOCATE AND LOBBY FOR THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO ADD A SOCCER COMPLEX AND ADDITIONAL FACILITIES AT HARBINS PARK TO ACCOMMODATE OUR GROWING COMMUNITY AND PROGRAM. ARCHER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (AAA) CONTINUED TO BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR YOUTH TO PARTICIPATE IN RECREATIONAL TEAM SPORTS.
