THE MAINE INFONET COLLABORATIVE EXISTS TO SUPPORT COOPERATION, PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATION AND SHARING BETWEEN ACADEMIC, PUBLIC, SCHOOL, AND SPECIALS LIBRARIES IN THE STATE OF MAINE. A MAJOR ACTIVITY OF THE MAINE INFONET COLLABORATIVE WILL BE TO ORGANIZE, CONVENE, AND MANAGE MEETINGS BRINGING TOGETHER LIBRARIANS AND LIBRARY STAFF FROM ACROSS THE STATE TO HELP PLAN AND ORGANIZE COOPERATIVE LIBRARY VENTURES AND/OR TO PROVIDE FORUMS FOR DISCUSSIONS OF TOPICS OF IMPORTANCE TO LIBRARIES ACROSS THE STATE. THE MAINE INFONET COLLABORATIVE MAY IN THE FUTURE FROM TIME TO TIME APPLY FOR PRIVATE, STATE AND/OR FEDERAL GRANT MONEYS IN ORDER TO UNDERTAKE ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT LIBRARY COOPERATION.
