NEW HOMES:IN EACH COMMUNITY, THE FAMILIES HAD BEEN LIVING IN SHACKS MADE OUT OF CARDBOARD, CORN STALKS OR SCRAP METAL AND DIRT FLOORS. THE HOMES WERE REPLACED WITH REINFORCED CONCRETE BLOCK HOMES WITH CONCRETE FLOORS AND LOCKING DOORS AND WINDOWS. 2-6 GUATEMALAN SKILLED LABORERS BENEFIT FROM A PAID JOB WITH EACH CONSTRUCTED HOME. WE REGRANTED $211,355.00 TO FROM HOUSES TO HOMES TO BUILD 86 HOMES IN 14 COMMUNITIES, IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF SACATAPEQUEZ AND CHILMALTENANGO, THAT DIRECTLY IMPACTED 372 PEOPLE, MOST OF WHOM ARE WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
COMPLETED PILOT PROJECT WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, GUATEMALA WE COMPLETED THE PILOT PROJECT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PROJECT CONCERN INTERNATIONAL (PCI) AND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, GUATEMALA. THROUGH THE WORK OF PCI, WE IDENTIFIED 10 FAMILIES THAT HAD NEEDS REQUIRING SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF HOUSING SOLUTIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HUEHUETENANGO. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, GUATEMALA CONSTRUCTED THE SOLUTIONS. WE ALSO COMPLETED ANOTHER 6 HOMES DIRECTLY WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, GUATEMALA IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLOA.
