THE CAMPAIGN FOR SOUTHERN EQUALITY (CSE) WORKS FOR FULL LGBTQ EQUALITY -BOTH LEGAL AND LIVED- ACROSS THE SOUTH. CSE'S WORK IS ROOTED IN COMMITMENTS TO EQUITY AND EMPATHY.

IN 2022, CSE PROGRAMMING INCLUDED OUR LEGAL EQUALITY PROJECT, COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM, SOUTHERN EQUALITY FUND, SOUTHERN EQUALITY STUDIOS, AND SOUTHERN EQUALITY RESEARCH AND POLICY CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, EVERY AREA OF OUR PROGRAMMING INVOLVES OUR EQUITY COMMITMENTS AND OUR COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY TO TELL A NEW STORY ABOUT LGBTQ LIFE IN THE SOUTH.


KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF 2022 PROGRAMMING INCLUDED ADVOCATING FOR THE PASSAGE OF LOCAL PRO- LGBTQ POLICIES IN NC; ORGANIZING IN OPPOSITION TO ANTI-LGBTQ BILLS IN SC; PROVIDING GRASSROOTS GRANTS AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE GRANTS TO SUPPORT LGBTQ SOUTHERN GRASSROOTS GROUPS AND LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS; PROVIDING LGBTQ HEALTH EQUITY TRAININGS TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS ACROSS WESTERN NC; PUBLISHING A NEW RESEARCH PROJECT FOCUSED ON THE EXPERIENCES OF LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS COMING OF AGE; AND SUPPORTING LGBTQ SOUTHERN ARTISTS IN CREATING PUBLIC WORK TELLING A NEW STORY ABOUT LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS.
