IN 2021, CSE PROGRAMMING INCLUDED OUR LEGAL EQUALITY PROJECT, COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM, SOUTHERN EQUALITY FUND, SOUTHERN EQUALITY STUDIOS, AND NEWLY-LAUNCHED SOUTHERN EQUALITY RESEARCH AND POLICY CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, EVERY AREA OF OUR PROGRAMMING INVOLVES OUR EQUITY COMMITMENTS AND OUR COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY. KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF 2021 INCLUDED ADVOCATING FOR THE PASSAGE OF LOCAL PRO-LGBTQ POLICIES IN NC; DEFEATING ANTI-LGBTQ BILLS IN SC; PROVIDING GRASSROOTS GRANTS AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE GRANTS TO SUPPORT LGBTQ SOUTHERN GRASSROOTS GROUPS AND LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS WHO HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC; PROVIDING LGBTQ HEALTH EQUITY TRAININGS TO HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS; CONDUCTING A NEW RESEARCH PROJECT FOCUSED ON THE EXPERIENCES OF LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS COMING OF AGE; AND SUPPORTING LGBTQ SOUTHERN ARTISTS IN CREATING PUBLIC WORK TELLING A NEW STORY ABOUT LGBTQ SOUTHERNERS.
