ALOHA AINA MOMONA FARMING & COMMUNITY OUTREACH. REMEDIATE LAND USING INDIGENOUS FARMING TECHNIQUES; PROVIDE COMMUNITY IMU, CULTURE AND NATURAL FARMING WORKSHOPS. HOST WORKDAYS AND NETWORK OPPORTUNITIES. ELEVATE NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY DAYS OF IMPORTANCE THROUGH CELEBRATION. DISTRIBUTE HULI (TARO SEED STOCK) AND ULU (BREADFRUIT) SAPLIGHS FOR HOME AND COMMUNITY GARDENS. PROVIDE ACCESS TO LAND TO FARM; ESTABLISH FRAMEWORK FOR A SUSTAINABLE AND CULTURALLY HISTORICAL MODEL OF LIVING VIA THE FARMSTEAD THAT THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES FROM. ESTABLISH MODELS FOR SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH PRACTICES HIGHLIGHTED AT THE FARMSTEAD. ASSIST FAMILIES IN TRANSITIONING TO MORE SUSTAINABLE AND FOOD SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. SUPPORT FAMILIES IN ESTABLISHING OF DEEP LITTER NO SMELL PIGPENS TO FEED AND BUILD SOIL. APPROXIMATELY 10,000 OHANA WERE HELPED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS; 20,000 HULI WERE DISTRIBUTED; 4,000 ULU SAPLINGS WERE MADE AVAILABLE.


PAPA & POHAKU. CONTINUE NATIVE HAWAIIAN PRACTICES OF CURING WOOD IN FISHPONDS, TARO PATCHES AND RIVERS AND MAKING IMPLEMENTS FOR TARO POUNDING (PAPA AND POHAKU KUIAI). MAKE BOARDS AND STONES AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. PROVIDE INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES SEEKING TO MAKE OR PROCURE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT. PROVIDE GUIDANCE AROUND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE GATHERING PRACTICES. APPROXIMATELY 200 FAMILIES WERE REACHED.


E OLA HALOA / KUIAI. PROVIDE KALO, EQUIPMENT, AND INSTRUCTION TO SCHOOLS, ORGANIZATIONS AND FAMILIES. TEACH PEOPLE TO MAKE THEIR OWN POI. ACT AS A FOOD HUB TO CONNECT FARMERS, HUNTERS AND GATHERERS TO FAMILIES. TRAIN INDIVIDUALS TO TEACH OTHERS HOW TO MAKE THEIR OWN POI. PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN LEARNING TO COOK INDIGENOUS STARCHES FOR A MODERN PALATE. PERPETUATE INDIGENOUS PRACTICES AND CULTURE THROUGH EDUCATION. APPROXIMATELY 300 OHANA WERE REACHED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS.
