S-3 SOCCER CLUBS - USE OF SOCCER TO ENGAGE YOUTH IN COMMUNITY WORK AND EDUCATION TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE TODAY AND DEVELOP NEW LEADERS FOR TOMORROW. PROGRAMS INCLUDE LOCAL SOCCER TEAMS, HEALTH EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIPS. 4 COMMUNITIES SERVED FOR A TOTAL NUMBER OF 12 TEAMS AND APPROXIMATELY 400 YOUTH AGES 7-18.
THE DREAM TEAM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOCUSES INTENSIVELY ON A SELECT NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND COMMITMENT TO THEIR COMMUNITIES WITHIN GOALS' YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, AND HELP THEM COMPLETE HIGH SCHOOL AND PREPARE FOR FUTURE STUDIES AND CAREERS.
GOALS INCORPORATES LITERACY TRAINING INTO ITS EXISTING SPORTS AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS. BY USING SOCCER AS A PLATFORM FOR DEVELOPMENT, GOALS IS ABLE TO REACH CHILDREN WHO ARE LEFT BEHIND BY CONVENTIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEMS, OFFERING A SECOND CHANCE FOR CHILDREN WHO LIVE IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES.
