CURBSIDE MINISTRIES IS A STREET MINISTRY THAT HAS SERVED IN THE ENTERPRISE DISTRICTS OF WARREN AND BARREN COUNTIES OF KENTUCKY SINCE 2011. THE PRIMARY CITIES IN THESE COUNTIES ARE BOWLING GREEN AND GLASGOW. THE DISTRIBUTION OF FREE ICE CREAM AND MOBILE ACTIVITIES CENTER ATTRACTS RESIDENTS ALLOWING VOLUNTEERS "TO SHOW LOVE AND SHARE TRUTH BY CONNECTING WITH FAMILIES AND BY BUILDING AND SUSTAINING RELATIONSHIPS AND BY PROVIDING CREATIVE, PARTICIPATORY ACTIVITIES WITH THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD REGARDLESS OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, RACE GENDER, ETHNICITY, AGE DISABILITY, ETC." THE MOBILE ACTIVITIES CENTER IS A CUSTOMIZED VAN FULL OF FUN ACTIVITIES AND EQUIPPED WITH AN ICE CREAM FREEZER TO DISTRIBUTE FREE ICE CREAM TO UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN AND YOUTH. VOLUNTEERS BRING THEIR CONTAGIOUS FAITH TO THE STREETS WITH ENTHUSIASM AND SELFLESS LOVE TRANSCENDING PAST MULTIPLES GENERATIONAL, SOCIAL, RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL DIFFERENCES AND LANGUAGE BARRIERS. MANY PARTICIPANTS ARE FROM REFUGEE OR IMMIGRANT FAMILIES WITH NATIVE LANGUAGES, INCLUDING ARABIC, BURMESE, DARI, KAREN, BURUNDI, SOMALIA, SPANISH, SWAHILI, ETC. C3 CURBSIDE COMMUNITY CHURCH (CURBSIDE) CONTINUES TO SHARE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE STREETS OF BOWLING GREEN AND GLASGOW, KENTUCKY THREE NIGHTS A WEEK YEARLY ALONG WITH INTRODUCING NEW OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES. 2016 BROUGHT WITH IT A BIG CHANGE OF A NEW BUILDING ON N LEE STREET CALLED THE CURBSIDE CONNECTION CENTER, WHICH ALLOWS THE OFFICERS AND VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE YEAR ROUND. THIS ADDITION AS GOD CONTINUES TO GROW THE AREA WITH REFUGEES. A "CURBSIDE INSIDE" MENTALITY WAS LAUNCHED IN MARCH AT TWO SITES. THE NEW BUILDING ON N.LEE STREET AND THE PARKER BENNETT COMMUNITY CENTER (RENTED THROUGH THE CITY OF BOWLING GREEN) ALLOW THE ORGANIZATION TO CONTINUE THE MINISTRY THROUGH THE WINTER MONTHS.THE FIRST VOLUNTEER GATHERING WAS HELD IN MARCH 2106. NEW AND OLD VOLUNTEERS ASSEMBLED TO LEARN ABOUTS THE SITES AND OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES. THERE WERE OVER 50 VOLUNTEERS IN ATTENDANCE. SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE VOLUNTEER GATHERING, THE VOLUNTEER BASE HAS GROW FOR 25 TO OVER 75 COMMITTED VOLUNTEERS.IN MAY, A WEEK OF MOTHER'S DAY ACTIVITIES PROVIDED ANOTHER OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY , WHEN EACH CHILD WAS GIVEN A BAG FULL OF GOODIES FOR THEIR MOMS. FATHER'S DAY WAS ACKNOWLEDGED IN JUNE WITH A "FATHER'S DAY COOK OUT." NEIGHBORHOOD DADS COULD JOIN THE VOLUNTEERS FOR A PLATE FULL OF BAR-B-QUE AND SIDE DISHES.THE SCHOOL YEAR WAS KICKED OFF WITH A "BACK2SCHOOL WATER NIGHT!" WITH WATER SLIDES, SPRINKLERS, WATER GUNS AND KIDDIE POOLS WERE ALL A PART OF THIS FUN NIGHT.CAMP CURBSIDE WAS STARTED TO OFFER MORE OF A DISCIPLESHIP (CADETS IN TRAINING), BASED ON MORALS AND BEHAVIOR. 50 CURBSIDE KIDS WERE CHOSEN TO ATTEND THIS ONE WEEK "BIBLE SCHOOL." ACTIVITIES INCLUDED GAMES, COLOR PAINT WARS, LESSONS ABOUT JESUS AND SCREAMED JOHN 3:16 UNTIL THEIR VOICES WERE NO MORE. CAMP CURBSIDE IS NOW CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST WEEKS OF THE YEAR. CURBSIDE CAMPERS WERE MORE ENGAGED AND ENLIGHTEN TO THE GOSPEL AND SEVERAL ASKED JESUS TO BE THEIR PERSONAL SAVIOR.2016 WAS FINISHED WITH SOME AMAZING HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES. THE CHILDREN THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE "CHAIR2CHAIR CANDY CRAZE WHICH WAS A MODIFIED VERSION OF TRUNK-OR-TREAT.THERE WERE OVER 100 PEOPLE AT THE PARKER BENNETT ANNUAL THANKSGIVING MEAL. THERE WERE 150 THANKSGIVING FOOD BOXES DISTRIBUTED BETWEEN TWO LOCATIONS.A BAG OF BLESSINGS 2016 WAS THE BIGGEST CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION TO DATE, WITH OVER 700 PEOPLE RECEIVED A BIBLE, A PAIR OF SHOES, A SWEATSHIRT, LAUNDRY DETERGENT, UNDERWEAR, A WARM HAT, TOILETRIES, COOKIES AND A WARM CUP OF COCOA.ALL OF THE ABOVE ACTIVITIES WERE POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY GIVING.GOD DOESN'T CALL US TO CHANGE ANYONE, BUT HE CALL US TO LOVE EVERYONE. BY SHOWING LOVE AND SHARING TRUTH EVERYONE IS MET RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE.
