CONDUCT MULTI-LOCATION TURFGRASS TRIALS AT QUALIFIED UNIVERSITIES. TURFGRASS CULTIVARS ARE TRIALED TO ASSESS SUPERIOR DROUGHT TOLERANCE OF NEW AND NOVEL CULTIVARS SUBMITTED TO TRIAL BY MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS AND LEADING TURF GRASS BREEDERS. UNIVERSITIES PARTICIPATING IN THE 2021 FISCAL YEAR INCLUDE THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS, PURDUE UNIVERSITY, VIRGINIA TECH AT BLACKSBURG, VIRGINIA, UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH, ONTARIO, CANADA, PENN STATE UNIVERSITY, AND UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY.
TWCA CONDUCTS EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ALSO KNOW AS FIELD DAYS, AND PARTICIPATED IN TWO ADDITIONAL EVENTS, THE TURFGRASS PRODUCERS INTERNATIONAL EXPO AND THE WATERSMART INNOVATIONS CONVENTION IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA. AT ALL OF THESE EVENTS TWCA PRESENTS THE LATEST RESEARCH DATA ON WATER SAVING STRATEGIES USING THE MOST IMPROVED CULTIVARS AND WATERING TECHNIQUES. IN ADDITION, THE TWCA PRODUCES A MAGAZINE WITH THE LATEST RESEARCH FINDINGS AND PROJECTS AROUND NORTH AMERICA.
CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW RESOURCE FOR MUNICIPAL GROUNDS, MAINTENANCE, PARKS, RECREATION, LANDSCAPING AND SIMILAR MANAGERS CALLED, "MANAGING LANDSCAPES FOR WATER CONSERVATION" (MANUAL.) THIS MANUAL IS BEING DEVELOPED IN COORDINATION WITH THE EPA WATERSENSE PROGRAM (EPA) AND ALLIANCE FOR WATER EFFICIENCY (AWE) BOTH OF WHOM HAVE SEATS ON THE REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR THE MANUAL. STAFF AND CONSULTANTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN DEVELOPING THIS TOOL IN 2020-2022.
ALL OTHER EXPENSES, TRAVEL, PROFESSIONAL FEES AND OFFICE EXPENSES SPENT TO CARRY OUT THE ANNUAL PROGRAM SERVICES.
