PROJECT VISION HAWAII IS A NONPROFIT THAT WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PEOPLE OF HAWAII TO PROMOTE HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND DIGNITY FOR ALL.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PROJECT VISION HAWAII RESPONDED TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, PROVIDING TESTING, VACCINATIONS, CONTACT TRACING, AND OUTREACH. THE ORGANIZATION WORKED WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19, WITH A FOCUS ON VULNERABLE POPULATIONS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS.


BETTER VISION FOR KEIKI IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH VISION TO LEARN AND THE HAWAII STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO PROVIDE VISION CARE SERVICES TO HELP CHILDREN SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE VISION SCREENINGS, EYE EXAMS, AND PRESCRIPTION GLASSES TO HAWAII STUDENTS, WITH A FOCUS ON TITLE I SCHOOLS.


HIEHIE BRINGS HEALTH, HYGIENE AND HUMAN SERVICES TO PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. THIS MOBILE HYGIENE PROGRAM PROVIDES HOT, PRIVATE SHOWERS TO THE HOUSELESS COMMUNITY AND CONNECTS THEM WITH RESOURCES AND SUPPORT.


PROJECT VISION HAWAII, DBA HAWAIIAN EYE FOUNDATION, PROMOTES THE PRESERVATION, RESTORATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF VISION THROUGHOUT THE PACIFIC BASIN THROUGH CHARITABLE SERVICE, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH PROGRAMS. THIS IS ACHIEVED THROUGH OUTREACH IN HAWAII AND THE PACIFIC BASIN, INCLUDING FREE CATARACT SURGERIES, RURAL EYE CAMPS AND TRAINING EXPEDITIONS, AND SUB-SPECIALTY TRAINING. SNAP AND ADDITIONAL GENERAL HEALTH PROGRAMS ARE ADDITIONAL SERVICE PROGRAMS.
