RUNNERS FOR AFRICA LEVERAGES THE GENEROSITY OF THE MARATHON RUNNING CULTURE IN THE U.S. TO GATHER DONATIONS OF SHOES AND CLOTHING THAT ARE PROVIDED TO A CENTRAL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK IN ZAMBIA. THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK, MADE UP OF LOCAL RESOURCES, FOCUSES RESOURCES ON ORPHANAGES WHERE CHILDREN HAVE LOST ONE OR OFTEN BOTH PARENTS TO THE AIDS VIRUS.
