RECYCLING AND PUBLIC LAND STEWARDSHIP IN CONEJOS COUNTY. OVER 100 PEOPLE HAVE COME TOGETHER TO ENGAGE IN RECYCLING INITIATIVES; UTILIZE CENTERS IN ANTONITO AND ALAMOSA, DISTRIBUTION OF WHERE AND HOW TO RECYCLE FLYERS AND HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING TO ENGAGE PROTECTION AND THE IDENTIFICATION OF SUSCEPTIBLE PLACES.
EDUCATION: A PROGRAM OF CCW, THE JUSTICE AND HERITAGE ACADEMY PARTNERS WITH CHARTER SCHOOLS, WITH OVERSIGHTS BY CHATER SCHOOL INSTITUTE (CSI), TO ENGAGE SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, FOOD, AND ECONOMIC. PLACE AND PROGRAM BASED LEARNING IS A HUGE EMPHASIS AND STILL MEETS COMMON CORE BENCHMARKS (HIGH QUALIFIED STAFF)
PLACES/STEWARDSHIP: CCW HAS ESTABLISHED A DIGITAL TRAIL SYSTEM, COMMUNITY GARDENS, OUTDOOR NUTRITION CENTER AND GEAR LIBRARY. THE PURPOSE OF THESE PLACES IS TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVES TO HARMFUL DEVELOPMENTS ON PUBLIC LANDS/HISTORIC SITES AND A MEANS TO GAIN ACCESS. THE GEAR LIBRARY CONTAINS: MTN BIKES, RAFTS, KAYAKS, SKIS, ROPES, TENTS AND CAMPING GEAR.
