IT IS THROUGH CONTRIBUTIONS SUCH AS THIS THAT ENABLES EVERY STUDENT TO LEARN, THRIVE AND SUCCEED IN THEIR EDUCATIONAL PATH TOWARD GRADUATION.ACCESS TO SERVICES, INCLUDING HOUSING, FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY DISASTERSWEDISH EDMONDS PROVIDED FUNDING SUPPORT TO THE NORTHWEST CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, SERVING COMMUNITIES IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON. THE MISSION OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IS TO PREVENT AND ALLEVIATE HUMAN SUFFERING IN THE FACE OF EMERGENCIES. THEY PROVIDE SHELTER AND HOUSING TO THOSE IN NEED, INSTALL SMOKE ALARMS TO PREVENT HOME FIRES, SERVE MEALS, AND RESPOND TO DISASTERS. THEY ALSO OFFER CPR CLASSES, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS AND COORDINATE BLOOD DONATIONS. THE NORTHWEST CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS RESPONDED TO MORE THAN 1,500 DISATERS, COLLECTED 27,000 UNITS OF BLOOD, AND PROVIDED 9,500 SERVICES TO MILITARY MEMBERS, VETERANS AND FAMILIES. BY DONATING TO THE RED CROSS, SWEDISH EDMONDS CAN HELP TO ENSURE THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO DELIVER NEEDED SERVICES TO THE VULNERABLE IN OUR COMMUNITY.SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR YOUTH, SENIORS, AND DISABLED ADULTSSWEDISH EDMONDS PROVIDED FUNDING TO SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR LOW-INCOME YOUTH, SENIORS AND DISABLED ADULTS TO PARTICIPATE IN A WIDE ARRAY OF PROGRAMS THROUGH THE EDMONDS PARKS AND RECREATION. THE PARKS AND RECREATION PROVIDES MEASURABLE HEALTH BENEFITS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL INTERACTIONS THROUGH MORE THAN 25 YOUTH DAY CAMPS AND DOZENS OF ADULT AND YOUTH SPORTS, FITNESS, WELLNESS AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS. ADDITIONALLY, THE PARKS AND RECREATION OFFERS RESOURCES ACROSS A VARIETY OF ISSUES, PARTICULARLY FOCUSED ON HELPING CONNECT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THAT ARE FINANCIALLY OR HOUSING-STRESSED WITH LOCAL AND REGIONAL RESOURCES.
