THE SUMMER NIGHTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS PLANS, ORGANIZES, AND FACILITATES A FAMILY-FRIENDLY ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT FESTIVAL. THE EVENT IS HELD THURSDAY EVENINGS JUNE THROUGH AUGUST. THE EVENT ENHANCES RAPID CITY'S PUBLIC IMAGE, INCREASES TOURISM, AND PROMOTES COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND VOLUNTEERISM. SUMMER NIGHTS ALSO CONTINUES TO ASSIST IN THE EFFORT TO REVITALIZE THE DOWNTOWN AREA AND PROMOTE ECONOMIC GROWTH. THE FESTIVAL USUALLY ATTRACTS 8,000 - 12,000 PATRONS EACH WEEK.
