THE AUTISM CENTER OF NORTH MISSISSIPPI PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL TO FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS TO SUPPORT CLIENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER, DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS, LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGING BEHAVIOR.

THE LARGEST PROGRAM SERVICE THAT THE AUTISM CENTER OF NORTH MISSISSIPPI OFFERS IS THE CLINIC-BASED ONE-ON-ONE BEHAVIOR THERAPY AND FUNCTIONAL COMMUNICATION TRAINING PROGRAM. EACH CLIENT IS ASSESSED USING A SKILLS BASED ASSESSMENT THAT IDENTIFIES SKILLS THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN THE CLIENTS' REPERTOIRE AND THE SKILLS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED TO OVERCOME THE MOST DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF AUTISM. AN INTENSIVE TREATMENT PLAN IS CREATED BY THE INSTRUCTOR AND SHARED WITH THE FAMILIES, SCHOOLS AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING CARE. THE CLIENT RECEIVES INTENSIVE INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION TO MEET GOALS AND OBJECTIVES IDENTIFIED IN THE TREATMENT PLAN. PROGRESS IS MEASURED BY DATA COLLECTION AND PROGRAMS ARE UPDATED ONCE A PREDETERMINED LEVEL OF MASTERY HAS BEEN ACHIEVED.


THE SECOND LARGEST PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE AUTISM CENTER OF NORTH MISSISSIPPI IS SCHOOL COMMUNICATION. THE AUTISM CENTER PROVIDES SEVERAL SERVICES TO THE SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS SUCH AS FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENTS, DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT, CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT CONSULTATION AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.


THE THIRD LARGEST PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE AUTISM CENTER OF NORTH MISSISSIPPI IS A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES. OUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES OFFERS EDUCATORS AND OTHER RELATED PROFESSIONALS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS BY ATTENDING LECTURES ON APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS, CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT AND AUTISM. THE ATTENDEES ALSO GAIN HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IN PROVIDING EVIDENCE BASED INSTRUCTION, ASSESSMENT AND CREATING AND IMPLEMENTING BEHAVIOR SUPPORT PLANS.
