THE COUNCIL IS THE SOLE ACCREDITING AGENCY FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR NURSE ANESTHESIA IN THE UNITED STATES, ITS TERRITORIES, ANDPROTECTORATES. THE COUNCIL HAS ACCREDITED MORE THAN 100 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. ITS ACCREDITATION DECISIONS ARE RELIED UPON BY A) STATELICENSING BOARDS, B) THE CERTIFYING BOARD FOR NURSE ANESTHETISTS IN THE UNITED STATES, C) HOSPITAL CREDENTIALING COMMITTEES, AND D) THEPUBLIC. THE COUNCIL IS RECOGNIZED AS AN EDUCATIONAL ACCREDITING AGENCY BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND BY THE COUNCILON HIGHER EDUCATION ACCREDITATION.
