THIS WAS A GRANT FROM JANSSEN EDUCATION TO ADDRESS PATIENT CONCERNS AROUND COVID19 AND VACCINATIONS. IT STARTED IN 2021 AND CONTINUED INTO 2022. IT INCLUDED THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COVID HOTLINE, TALK SHOW EPISODES, DOCUMENTS FOR DOWNLOAD,AND ONLINE GROUP EDUCATION.
THIS IS A PROGRAM TO SUPPORT OUR OVERALL MISSION TO IMPROVE EDUCATION, POLICY, AND RESEARCH. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO BUILD OUR OWN RESEARCH DATABASE (TO LAUNCH IN 2022) AND DEVELOP A PLATFORM AND EXPANDED COMMUNICATION PROGRAMS TO INCREASE DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND HELP MENTOR THOSE WHO WANT A BIGGER VOICE TO IMPACT CHANGE. WE FURTHERED OUR EDUCATION ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PRECISION MEDICINE AND HOW THIS IMPACTS PUBLIC POLICY. WE WERE ABLE TO ATTEND SEVERAL CONFERENCES AND JOIN COLAITIONS TO FURTHER OUR WORK IN THIS AREA. THROUGH OUR CHARITY TALKS, WE WERE ABLE TO SPREAD GLOBAL AWARENESS AND TEACH OTHERS HOW TO EXPLAIN TO THEIR FAMILIES THEIR STRUGGLES AND SUPPORT NEEDS.
THIS WAS A COMBINATION OF GRANTS FROM THREE DIFFERENT GROUPS ($15,000 FROM SOBI, $15,000 FROM AVALO, $10,000 FROM NOVARTIS) TO HOST A GLOBAL AWARENESS AND EDUCATION CAMPAIGN ABOUT STILL'S DISEASE AND FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY THIS CONDITION. EFFORTS STARTED IN AUGUST 2021 AND CONTINUED THROUGH 2022 (WEBINAR AND REWATCH PARTY/CONTINUED DISCUSSIONS INSIDE ONLINE GROUPS), A POSTER CAMPAGIN, BROCHURE DISTRIBUTION, AND COLLECTING NAMES FROM PATIENTS OF GOOD RHEUMATOLOGISTS SO WE CAN 1) DISTRIBUTE OUR MATERIALS AND 2) CONNECT PATIENTS TO GOOD DOCTORS WHO UNDERSTAND THIS RARE CONDITION.
