FAMILY PROMISE IN ANOKA COUNTY (FPAC) PROVIDES TEMPORARY SHELTER, HOSPITALITY, AND CASE MANAGEMENT TO ASSIST FAMILIES EXPERIENCING HOUSING INSECURITY TO BUILD A FOUNDATION OF LASTING INDEPENDENCE.

FAMILIES RECEIVE FREE SERVICES FOR UP TO 90 DAYS, INCLUDING SHELTER, MEALS, AND CASE MANAGEMENT. IN AN AVERAGE YEAR, 20-24 FAMILIES COMPRISING ABOUT 75 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED BY FAMILY PROMISE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN A NORMAL YEAR, OVER 800 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 3000 BED NIGHTS AND OVER 9000 MEALS TO THE FAMILY PROMISE PROGRAM. 75% OF THE FAMILIES MOVE INTO PERMANENT, INDEPENDENT HOUSING WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF COMPLETING OF THE PROGRAM, OTHERS ARE ABLE TO SECURE A LONG-TERM HOUSING SOLUTION THROUGH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER.AS OUR SERVICES CONTINUED TO BE AFFECTED BY THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC IN 2021, OUR NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS WAS JUST OVER 400 AND MEALS WERE PROVIDED IN WAYS THAT ALLOWED OUR GUESTS TO COOK MOST OF THEIR MEALS THEMSELVES.
HOME FOR KEEPS HELPS FAMILIES MOVE FROM HOMELESSNESS TO HOME OWNERSHIP BY REHABILITATING MANUFACTURED HOMES TO PROVIDE THEM AT LOW OR NO COST TO A FAMILY, SO THEY ARE ABLE TO BUILD EQUITY WHILE MAINTAINING STABILITY. 10 PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM THIS PROGRAM DURING THE CURRENT YEAR.
OUR NEW STABILIZATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMMING FOCUSES ON HELPING PEOPLE STAY HOUSED. SERVICES PROVIDED TO ABOUT 60 PEOPLE, INCLUDING CASE MANAGEMENT, INTERAGENCY REFERRALS, BUDGETING ASSISTANCE, AND RENTAL AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE.
