FAMILY PROMISE IN ANOKA COUNTY (FPAC) PROVIDES TEMPORARY SHELTER, HOSPITALITY, AND CASE MANAGEMENT TO ASSIST FAMILIES EXPERIENCING HOUSING INSECURITY TO BUILD A FOUNDATION OF LASTING INDEPENDENCE.

THE FAMILY PROMISE SHELTER PROGRAM FOCUSES ITS GOAL ON GETTING FAMILIES OUT OF HOUSING INSTABILITY AND INTO A LASTING, SUSTAINABLE, AND PERMANENT HOME. FAMILIES EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS RECEIVE FREE SERVICES, INCLUDING SHELTER, FOOD SUPPORT, AND CASE MANAGEMENT, IN THIS 90-DAY PROGRAM. THIS YEAR, FAMILY PROMISE SERVED 29 INDIVIDUALS IN OUR SHELTER PROGRAM, WITH A CAPACITY OF 3-5 FAMILIES AT A TIME. NEARLY 200 VOLUNTEERS HELP PROVIDE FOOD, SUPPLIES AND MEET OTHER NEEDS OF FAMILIES WHILE THEY WORK WITH FAMILY PROMISE CASE MANAGERS TO ACHIEVE LASTING HOUSING STABILITY.


HOME FOR KEEPS HELPS FAMILIES MOVE FROM HOMELESSNESS TO HOME OWNERSHIP BY REHABILITATING MANUFACTURED HOMES TO PROVIDE THEM AT LOW OR NO COST TO A FAMILY, SO THEY ARE ABLE TO BUILD EQUITY WHILE MAINTAINING STABILITY.


OUR STABILIZATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMMING FOCUSES ON HELPING PEOPLE STAY HOUSED. SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE CASE MANAGEMENT, DIRECT ASSISTANCE, LANDLORD ADVOCACY, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, INTERAGENCY REFERRALS, BUDGETING ASSISTANCE, AND RENTAL AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE. IN TOTAL, 66 FAMILIES (288 INDIVIDUALS) WERE SERVICED DURING 2023 THROUGH THE HOUSING STABILIZATION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS PROVIDED BY FAMILY PROMISE IN ANOKA COUNTY.
