SURVIVORSHIP 101:FOR SURVIVORS OF ANY CANCER, AND PARTICIPANTS MAY BRING A FRIEND/FAMILY/CAREGIVER TO THESE SESSIONS. THIS CLASS IS PRESENTED WITH CARE, COMPASSION, AND MANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP WITH THE REAL FEELINGS AND SITUATIONS THAT BOTH SURVIVORS AND CAREGIVERS MAY GO THROUGH. THESE WEEKLY SESSIONS PROVIDE EACH PARTICIPANT WITH A 375-PAGE GUIDEBOOK ALONG WITH PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE, INCLUDING RESEARCH-BASED ADVICE ON TOPICS LIKE REDUCING ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, NUTRITION, EXERCISE, AND INTIMACY WITH PARTNERS. CAREGIVERS RECEIVE AN INCREASED UNDERSTANDING OF A SURVIVOR'S JOURNEY, AND ALSO RECEIVE A SPECIAL 166-PAGE GUIDEBOOK WITH TIPS ON HOW TO BEST SUPPORT AND CARE FOR THE NEEDS OF SURVIVORS.
OTHER MISCELLANEOUS PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING ANDAFTER-CARE FOR CANCER SURVIVORS.
BRAIN FOG: TREATMENT CAN LEAVE CANCER SURVIVORS FEELING LIKE THEY ARE IN A MENTAL "FOG". SPECIALISTS CALL IT "CHEMO BRAIN OR "BRAIN FOG." FOR SOME, IT'S A NUISANCE, BUT FOR OTHERS IT CAN BE INCAPACITATING. NEARLY THREE OF EVERY FOUR CANCER PATIENTS EXPERIENCE BRAIN FOG. PATIENTS DESCRIBE A FRUSTRATING LOSS OF CLARITY THAT CAN BE LIFE-ALTERING. THE TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES TAUGHT IN OUR BRAIN FOG PROGRAM HELP RESHAPE THE BRAIN TO FUNCTION AT A MAXIMUM CAPACITY. THIS SESSION IS TAUGHT IN AN INFORMATIVE, FUN, AND INTERACTIVE WAY THAT IMPROVES THINKING, FEELING, AND FUNCTIONING. SINCE 2013, OVER 1,500 CONTACT HOURS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED TO PARTICIPANTS.
CREATE YOUR BEST LIFE: THE CREATE YOUR BEST LIFE SERIES OF LIVE, VIRTUAL EVENTS WAS LAUNCHED IN SEPTEMBER 2020 IN RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF OUR CANCER SURVIVORS. EXPERTS PRESENT IN-DEPTH TOPICS IMPORTANT TO SURVIVORS AND CAREGIVERS AND ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS. THANKS TO ZOOM TECHNOLOGY, WE ARE ABLE TO SCHEDULE MONTHLY EVENTS SURVIVORS CAN PARTICIPATE IN FROM THE COMFORT OF THEIR OWN HOMES. IN ADDITION, EACH SESSION IS VIDEOTAPED AND AVAILABLE AFTER THE EVENT ON THE A TIME TO HEAL YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
