AMEENA CENTRE SERVES A COMMUNITY SCHOOL FOR 130 CHILDREN AGED 3 TO 8 YEARS. EDUCATION IS PROVIDED 5 DAYS PER WEEK WITH USUAL KENYAN HOLIDAYS AND BREAKS OBSERVED. THE EDUCATION ALLOWS CHILDREN TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE IN ORDER TO PASS THE KENYAN NATIONAL EXAM THAT IS REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE INTO A FREE PRIMARY EDUCATION. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES 2 MEALS PER DAY FOR A TOTAL OF 38,000 MEALS SERVED ANNUALLY. THIS RELIEVES STRESS ON PARENTS AND PREVENTS WASTING OF THE CHILD WHO IS THEREFORE READY TO LEARN.
