THE NATIONAL ANESTHESIA CLINICAL OUTCOMES REGISTRY (NACOR) IS DESIGNATED AS A QUALIFIED REGISTRY (QR) AND QUALIFIED CLINICAL DATA REGISTRY (QCDR) BY THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE & MEDICAID SERVICES. WITH MILLIONS OF CASES AND GROWING, NACOR'S CLINICAL DATA INFORMS TREATMENT CHOICES AND HELPS CONTROL TREATMENT COSTS. NACOR IS OPERATED AND MAINTAINED BY AQI, WITH DATA WAREHOUSING AND ANALYTICS PROVIDED BY AN OUTSIDE VENDOR WITH AQI'S OVERSIGHT. NACOR PROVIDES CUSTOM CONTINUOUS PERFORMANCE MONITORS, GAP ANALYSIS AND PATIENT OUTLIER IDENTIFICATION, PEER-TO-PEER BENCHMARKS, ETC. IN ADDITION, NACOR SENDS QR AND QCDR DATA TO CMS ON BEHALF OF NACOR PRACTICES ELECTING TO PARTICIPATE IN QUALITY REPORTING.
THE CLOSED CLAIMS PROJECT IS DEDICATED TO THE SCIENTIFIC STUDIES OF ADVERSE ANESTHETIC OUTCOMES AND STUDIES OF MALPRACTICE CLAIMS AGAINST ANESTHESIOLOGISTS. THE PROJECT HAS OVER 10,000 CLAIMS FOR EVENTS FROM 1970-PRESENT. THE PROJECT WORKS TO IDENTIFY MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS, PATTERNS OF INJURY AND STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING PATIENT SAFETY BY ANESTHESIOLOGISTS WORKING IN PAIN MANAGEMENT, OPERATING ROOMS, LABOR FLOORS, REMOTE LOCATIONS AND CRITICAL CARE.
