HURRICANE RECOVERY OPERATIONS ARE UNDERWAY IN THREE FEDERALLY DECLARED DISASTER AREAS-EASTERN NC (HURRICANES MATTHEW AND FLORENCE); BEAUREGARD AND CALCASIEU PARISHES, LA (HURRICANES LAURA/DELTA); AND WESTERN KENTUCKY (MAJOR TORNADOES OF DECEMBER 2021). AFTER MORE THAN FOUR YEARS AND EXCELLENT RECOVERY PROGRESS, WE'VE DISCONTINUED OPERATIONS IN GALVESTON/HOUSTON, TX (HURRICANE HARVEY AND WINTER STORM URI). WE ALSO STOOD UP AND DISCONTINUED AT THE END OF JUNE AN OPERATION IN TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (HURRICANE IDA). BEFORE DEPARTURE FROM GALVESTON/HOUSTON, WE OVERSAW AND FUNDED THE RESTORATION OF 174 HOMES WITH SERIOUS WATER DAMAGE FROM WINTER STORM URI. IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA (FLORENCE AND MATTHEW) WE CONTINUED OUR REBUILDING PROGRAM COMPLETING 38 FULLY RESTORED HOMES. IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA, AN AREA RECOVERING FROM FOUR MAJOR DISASTERS IN A SINGLE YEAR, WE'VE REBUILT 20 HOMES AND AN ADDITIONAL 46 HOMES IN A COALITION WITH TWO OTHER NONPROFITS. IN TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LOUISIANA, WE INITIATED A REBUILDING OPERATION AFTER HURRICANE IDA. AFTER REBUILDING THERE FOR 10 MONTHS (20 HOMES), WE MOVED THOSE RESOURCES TO MADISONVILLE, KY, TO SUPPORT THE RECOVERY FROM THE EF-4 TORNADOES OF DECEMBER 2021.
