OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD COMMUNITY TOGETHER. WE HAVE THREE MAIN PROGRAMS: RESILIENCE AND CAPACITY BUILDING, CELEBRATION OF CULTURES, AND FAMILY EMPOWERMENT. OUR MAIN AUDIENCE IS THE LATINX COMMUNITY OF BENTON AND LINN COUNTIES.

RESILIENCE AND CAPACITY BUILDING: CASA LATINOS UNIDOS SUPPORT THE LATINX COMMUNITIES IN BENTON AND LINN COUNTIES THROUGH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WILLAMETTE WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIPS, WE ARE RECRUITING YOUTH FOR THE Y-CAN WORKFORCE TRAININ AND WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM. AND THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MID-VALLEY STEM-CTE HUB AND LINN BENTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WE ARE CONDUCTING MENTORSHIP ACTIVITIES WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL CHILDREN. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE STARTED TO OFFER ENGLISH CLASSES AND FINANCIAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS AT GARFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND OTHER LOCATIONS IN BENTON AND LINN COUNTIES.


CELEBRATION OF CULTURES: THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS ACTIVITIES TO SHOWCASE AND CELEBRATE THE CULTURES OF THE PEOPLE WHO IMMIGRATE FROM LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES TO LINN AND BENTON COUNTIRES. THIS HAS INCLUDED AN ORAL HISTORY VIDEO COLLECTION, WHICH WAS INAUGERATED AT THE CORVALLIS MUSEUM, THE CELEBRATION OF THE DAY OF THE DEAD, AND OUR PARTICIPATION AT CORVALLIS OPEN STREETS.


FAMILY EMPOWERMENT: WE AID LATINX INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES, PARTICULARLY THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PROFICIENCY IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, WITH INTERPRETING, TRANSLATIONS, COMPLETING FORMS AND APPLICATIONS, RESUME BUILDING, DRAFTING LETTERS, TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE, MAKING MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, AND REFERRALS TO LOW-COST OR FREE LEGAL SERVICES. AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM, WE PROVIDE EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PAY RENT TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED HARDSHIP BECAUSE OF HEALTH OR JOB-RELATED REASONS. ON OCCASION, WE PARTNER WITH WE CARE, VINA MOSES, AND SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL IN PROVIDING RENT ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFIED CLIENTS.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O
